Saudi Arabia: Interior Ministry announces execution of citizen who slaughtered his wife and daughter while they were sleeping - Sarmad

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that the execution of a “hadd” punishment was carried out against a Saudi national in the Ha’il region, following the establishment of his involvement in the murder of his wife and daughter, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Ministry of Interior stated in its statement: “Mamdouh bin Dhahir bin Gharib Al-Hamli Al-Shamri, a Saudi national, killed his wife, Mariam bint Saad bin Zaid Al-Shamri, and his daughter, Ghala, both Saudi nationals, by entering their bedrooms and stabbing them with a sharp object,” as reported by SPA.
It added: “Security forces were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator. The investigation led to charges being brought against him for committing the crime, and he was referred to the competent court. A ruling was issued against him confirming the allegations, and since his actions were premeditated and involved ambush, thereby ensuring the victims’ vulnerability to his attack, he was sentenced to execution by hadd for premeditated murder. The sentence became final after his appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court, and a royal decree was issued to enforce the legally mandated punishment.”
