Death of child Ayoub.. Algeria announces recovery of the body after he fell into a well 4 days ago - Sarmad

Algeria announced on Saturday the death of a child, Ayoub, and the recovery of his body after he fell four days earlier into an artesian well in the village of Rukna, in the municipality of Gassoul, in the province of Béchar, in the southwest of the country.

The Algerian Civil Protection agency stated in a press release: “Following the rescue operation of a child who fell into a dry artesian well in the location known as Rukna village, Gassoul municipality, Béchar province, the child’s location has been found and he has been recovered deceased.”

It added: “The Civil Protection agency, together with local authorities and various public and private entities, has deployed all human and material resources for this operation.”

Ayoub, aged 10, fell into the dry well on Wednesday. The well is approximately 80 meters deep and has a diameter of no more than 40 centimeters, making access extremely difficult.

The rescue mission faced significant challenges due to the soil conditions in the area, which required rescue teams to proceed with extreme caution.
