US Embassy in Bahrain Warns Its Citizens of 'Unanticipated Escalation' in the Region - Sarmad

The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain issued a security alert to American citizens, emphasizing that the security situation in the Middle East remains complex, with the possibility of unexpected escalation.

In its advisory, the embassy noted that Iran had previously targeted civilian infrastructure in Bahrain, including hotels in the capital, Manama, and urged American citizens currently in the Middle East to exercise heightened vigilance.

The alert stressed the need to be aware of the potential for flight cancellations, airspace closures, and general travel disruptions amid current security developments, and affirmed that Americans traveling to or from the region should monitor information regarding airport operations and airlines.

The embassy pointed out that “U.S. diplomatic facilities, including those outside the Middle East region, have been targeted.”

It warned that Iran and its allied groups could target other U.S. interests abroad or sites linked to the United States and Americans worldwide, including other U.S. companies and institutions.

It noted that the U.S. Embassy remains open to American citizens to provide routine services and visa services.
