Chamber of Commerce: Eager to Strengthen Economic Relations and Investment Cooperation between Kuwait and Lesotho - Sarmad
The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic ties between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Lesotho, and to expanding areas of commercial and investment cooperation, thereby contributing to an increase in bilateral trade volume and the establishment of investment partnerships between the two countries.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, following its meeting with Lesotho’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Limpho Tau, and his accompanying delegation, the Chamber noted that the talks, held in the presence of the Lesotho Ambassador to Kuwait, Mantabising Fohleli, focused on ways to develop economic relations between the two friendly nations and to explore opportunities available to the business sectors.
The Chamber emphasized its readiness to make every effort and mobilize all resources to support bilateral cooperation through organizing business meetings, hosting exhibitions of national products, and disseminating information on commercial and investment opportunities, as well as Lesotho’s investment law.
It clarified that these efforts aim to raise awareness among the Kuwaiti business community about available opportunities, thereby boosting trade volumes and enhancing investment partnerships between the two countries.
The statement quoted Minister Tau reiterating his country’s interest in developing existing economic relations with Kuwait and providing further opportunities for Kuwaiti businessmen to collaborate with their Lesotho counterparts.
He pointed to investment opportunities in several sectors, notably mining and precious stones, textiles and clothing, wool and mohair, food and agricultural products, livestock and poultry, and the tourism sector.
He also highlighted Lesotho’s abundant water resources, which have earned it the nickname “the water tower of southern Africa,” enabling it to engage in hydropower generation, and urged the Kuwaiti business sector to explore these opportunities and leverage the available investment potential in his country.
