Syrian security forces arrest prominent Assad regime journalist - Sarmad

Syrian security forces arrested Senal Al-Khodair, a prominent media figure in the Assad regime, during a security operation in the Damascus countryside on Thursday.

The Syrian Al-Ikhbariya channel reported that the operation also led to the arrest of several individuals who worked with Al-Khodair.

The channel noted that during the ousted regime’s tenure, Al-Khodair served as a war correspondent and head of the military media branch within what was known as the National Defense.

It added that she also held responsibility for public relations at the Prime Minister’s Office during the ousted regime’s period, as part of her career trajectory linked to media and official institutions.

Syrian authorities have not yet announced the specific charges against her, whether she has been referred to the judiciary, or the identities of those arrested with her.
