Egyptian President and Saudi Crown Prince Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional and International Issues by Phone - Sarmad
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held a telephone conversation today, Thursday, with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and regional and international issues.
In a statement, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy noted that during the call, al-Sisi extended congratulations to the Saudi Crown Prince on the occasion of the approaching Saudi National Day, expressing his wishes for continued stability and prosperity for the Kingdom under the wise leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated these sentiments, reaffirming the fraternal and historical ties binding the two brotherly nations.
The spokesperson indicated that the conversation covered all aspects of bilateral relations, with al-Sisi emphasizing the importance of continuing to advance and strengthen various dimensions of bilateral cooperation, in order to serve shared interests and meet the aspirations of both countries and their peoples for development, prosperity, and improved conditions in the region.
He stressed the shared destiny between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the importance of joint efforts to overcome the challenges facing the region and its countries.
In this regard, he also emphasized that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Arab states constitutes an extension of Egypt’s national security.
The spokesperson stated that the Saudi Crown Prince expressed his appreciation for the progress witnessed in Egypt-Saudi relations, praising the close coordination between the two countries to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East region and to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress and prosperity. He also stressed the importance of intensifying coordination between the two countries in various fields, including high-level visits.
He added that the conversation also addressed several regional and international issues, with an emphasis on the necessity of de-escalating current regional tensions to preserve peace and stability in the region, considering the repercussions of the current tensions on energy security, supply chains, and regional and international trade.
