Iraqi links Iran's compliance with the return of Washington to the Islamabad memorandum - Sarmad

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a direct message to the United States, affirming that Tehran will not take any steps to implement its commitments until Washington returns to the obligations it had signed.

Araghchi stated, “The solution is straightforward: the United States must return to its signed commitments before Iran implements its own, and we will not take any steps before that,” a stance reflecting Tehran’s insistence on linking any future Iranian actions to Washington’s prior fulfillment of agreed-upon terms.

He added, “Iran is simultaneously expanding its economic cooperation with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” noting that the organization’s countries remain eager to cooperate economically with Tehran despite U.S. pressures.

Araghchi pointed out that the final communiqué of the Shanghai summit explicitly condemned what it described as “excesses by the United States and the Zionist entity,” while emphasizing that the Iranian President, during the summit meetings, rejected what he termed U.S. and Israeli attacks, stressed the priority of diplomatic solutions, and affirmed that Iran would not remain silent in the face of any aggression.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also highlighted a series of bilateral meetings held on the sidelines of the summit, some official and others informal, aimed at discussing political and economic files as well as bilateral relations.
