US Treasury Secretary: Iran responds strongly amid economic pressure from sanctions - Sarmad

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday that Iran takes the U.S. sanctions imposed on it seriously.

The U.S. minister told journalists during a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in North Carolina that Iran is now responding forcefully because it is suffering economic losses.

Bessent clarified, saying, “I think they are responding forcefully because they are suffering economically.”

The U.S. minister stressed that Washington will continue to exert pressure on Iran.

Earlier today, U.S. President Donald Trump, in an interview with the American Fox News channel, said he would respond to Iranian attacks against U.S. targets.
