UAE President Issues Decree Establishing the National Program for Advanced Sciences and Technologies - Sarmad

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, issued a decree establishing the “National Advanced Sciences and Technologies Program,” a move aimed at building an integrated national pathway that links education, research and development, and talent development with the UAE’s strategic and advanced industries.
The program enhances the UAE’s readiness for the future through an institutional framework that supports innovation, competitiveness, and national sovereignty in priority vital sectors.
The establishment of the program aligns with a comprehensive strategy to develop an educational and research system capable of keeping pace with rapid scientific and technological transformations, and to direct the outputs of education, research, and development toward fields that serve the UAE’s needs and its developmental and industrial priorities.
The program focuses on investing in promising national talent, developing a base of specialized expertise in advanced sciences and technologies, and preparing them within future disciplines and pathways that contribute to strengthening national industrial capabilities and the competitiveness of Emirati products in strategic and vital sectors of national priority, while supporting national sovereignty in these areas.
