Death toll from Nepal floods rises to 626, with 2,426 missing - Sarmad

Nepalese authorities announced on Saturday that 626 bodies have been recovered so far following devastating flash floods that occurred on the Budhi Gandaki River in Rasuwa District in the northern part of the country.

Nepal News, citing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, reported that the bodies of 626 people were recovered after the destructive floods that struck Nepal last Wednesday. Government data confirmed that 2,426 people remain missing, including 933 workers on hydropower projects.

The authority stated that 15,224 security personnel have been deployed to conduct search and rescue operations in the disaster-affected areas, having rescued 4,451 people so far.
