Suspicions of damage to public funds in the 'Disability' sector, estimated at approximately 1.211 million dinars, referred to the Public Prosecution - Sarmad

The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, announced on Saturday the referral of facts and allegations concerning damage to public funds at the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities to the Public Prosecution, to take the necessary legal measures against several officials and employees.
Minister Al-Huwail stated that this referral is the second within a week and comes as part of the continued approach of oversight, accountability, and protection of public funds.
She clarified that the referral followed the findings of an investigation committee regarding violations related to maintenance works and contracts, as well as instances where payments were made for quantities and works that were found not to have been fully executed on the ground. The value of the damage under investigation was estimated at approximately 1.211 million dinars.
Minister Al-Huwail emphasized that protecting public funds is a responsibility that allows for no leniency, affirming that all violations carrying a criminal suspicion will follow their legal course, with necessary administrative and legal measures taken, efforts to recover any amounts paid without justification, and the preservation of the rights of the Authority and public funds.
She stressed that accountability will extend to anyone proven to be negligent or responsible, regardless of their position, without exception, and that oversight remains continuous to ensure integrity and the proper management of public funds.
