CENTCOM: We succeeded in removing naval mines from international shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz - Sarmad

US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Admiral Brad Cooper announced that US forces had successfully cleared naval mines from international shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, stating they had been planted months earlier by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In a video operational update posted on the X platform, Cooper said the internationally recognized passages were now free of naval mines, adding that approximately 50,000 US soldiers were operating across the region.
He described the mine clearance as a significant achievement for the US military in the strait, noting that US forces had carried out precise and quiet operations over the past months to eliminate the threat posed by the mines from navigation lanes.
