Egypt wins $22.7 million contract to deliver natural gas in the Jordanian capital - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced on Thursday that one of its affiliated companies won a contract to supply gas in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with a contract value of approximately $22.7 million.

The ministry said in a statement that Petrojet, an affiliate of the Egyptian Petroleum Sector, won the project through a consortium with a local Jordanian company on behalf of the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, adding that the project duration is 18 months.

It clarified that the project involves design, supply, execution, and construction works for a natural gas pipeline approximately 22 kilometers long, linking the Al-Muwaqqar Industrial Development Zone to the natural gas network, starting from the Arab Gas Pipeline, along with the construction of gas reduction and metering stations and a dispatch and reception room.

The ministry emphasized that Petrojet’s win for the project reflects the growing presence of Egyptian Petroleum Sector companies in international markets and their ability to compete and execute pipeline, infrastructure, and energy projects in regional markets.

The project comes as part of a series of projects being implemented by Egyptian Petroleum Sector companies abroad, which enhances their international operations and supports their competitiveness at the regional level.
