Emirati-Egyptian partnership worth $500 million to secure wheat supplies - Sarmad

Al Dhahira Agricultural Trading Company (ADAT), a subsidiary of Al Dhahira Holding Company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has signed a strategic agreement worth up to $500 million with Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) for the supply of wheat over a five-year period. This operational move translates the strategic commitment established in 2023 into a long-term wheat supply arrangement, supported by the Export Development Corporation (ADEX) financing program.

The signing ceremony took place at the Egyptian Cabinet headquarters, attended by Dr. Sherif Mohamed Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GASC, and Khadeem Al Darji, Founding Partner and Managing Director of Al Dhahira.

This agreement establishes an operational framework for the reliable and sustainable supply of wheat, serving as a prime example of how targeted financing can support long-term economic partnerships and strengthen trade and investment ties between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.

The partnership is built on Al Dhahira’s extensive expertise in supporting large-scale supply requirements through its global agricultural platform, which serves more than 40 markets worldwide.

The company has maintained a strong presence in Egypt since 2007, operating one of the country’s largest private agricultural platforms in Toshka and East El-Oweinat. These facilities integrate agricultural production, manufacturing, and supply chain capabilities, providing clients with reliable access to essential food and feed products.

This signing reflects the depth of agricultural cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt, underscoring the value of long-term partnerships grounded in operational execution, supply continuity, and a shared commitment to supporting sustainable agricultural development.
