Deputy Minister of Oil Meets with Congressional Delegation to Discuss Joint Cooperation and Energy Supply Security - Sarmad

(KUNA) — The Deputy Minister of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Namar Fahad Al-Malal Al-Sabah, held talks today, Wednesday, with a U.S. Congressional delegation to explore ways to enhance communication and exchange views on issues of mutual interest in the energy sector.

In a press statement issued by the ministry, Sheikh Dr. Namar Al-Sabah emphasized the deep, historic, and close ties between Kuwait and the United States, characterized by a solid partnership and extended cooperation across various fields. He noted Kuwait’s commitment to continuing to strengthen cooperation and coordination frameworks between the two friendly countries, particularly in the energy sector, in a manner that serves shared interests and supports the security and stability of energy supplies.

For his part, the U.S. delegation expressed, according to the statement, its appreciation for the close relations between the two friendly countries, commending the level of existing cooperation and coordination and the importance of continuing dialogue and exchanging views on issues of mutual interest, especially in the field of energy and supply security, to contribute to enhancing joint cooperation in the coming phase.

The statement noted that the U.S. delegation included Yakerah Rosen and John Tootchi from the majority in the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Francesca Ierimiva from the minority in the same committee. It added that the delegation also included Baeson Roll from the minority in the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Ashley Mott from the office of Republican Whip Steve Scalise, along with Brian Shellburn, Deputy Economic Advisor, and economic specialists Karen Nasrallah and Marwan Al-Haddad.
