Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed his country’s principled stance supporting Syria’s unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty on Wednesday, emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to enhance stability in the country and develop bilateral relations.

The Russian presidential administration, the Kremlin, stated in a press release that this came during a phone call between Putin and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, in which they discussed the current situation and prospects for developing bilateral ties.

Both sides expressed their readiness, according to the statement, to deepen political dialogue and expand cooperation in economic, humanitarian, and other fields, underscoring the importance of maintaining communications between Moscow and Damascus.
