Ministry of Education Continues Equipping 161 Schools with Over 15,000 Furniture Pieces in Preparation for the New Academic Year - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Ministry of Education has affirmed its continued preparations to provide all necessary educational and logistical requirements for schools, ensuring an organized launch of the 2026–2027 academic year, in accordance with directives from Minister of Education Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabatabai.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry said the Supply and Warehousing Administration is continuing efforts to equip and enhance schools with required school furniture, based on needs assessments submitted by relevant authorities and approved distribution plans. These measures aim to provide a suitable learning environment for students and teachers as the new academic year begins.

The Ministry noted that current preparation and enhancement efforts are targeting 161 schools distributed across various educational districts, under a plan grounded in each school’s actual needs. This approach ensures optimal use of resources and guarantees that equipment reaches schools according to their priorities and requirements.

The plan includes providing and enhancing schools with more than 15,000 pieces of student furniture across all educational stages. This includes chairs specifically designed for kindergarten, appropriate furniture for primary, intermediate, and secondary stages, as well as upgraded, modular student desks that can be reconfigured to suit the nature of educational activities.

The Ministry emphasized that preparation efforts extend beyond furniture provision, forming part of a broader strategy to develop the school environment and improve the efficiency of facilities and equipment in line with educational needs. It also stressed the ongoing monitoring of supply, distribution, and preparation processes to ensure completion within specified timelines.

The Ministry of Education reiterated its commitment to implementing preparations for the new academic year across all educational, administrative, technical, and logistical channels, within an integrated system aimed at ensuring school readiness and welcoming students into a well-prepared learning environment. This reflects the Ministry’s dedication to providing the best possible conditions for a stable and successful launch of the 2026–2027 academic year.
