The “Authentic Art” Troupe Revives Kuwait’s Musical Heritage at The Avenues - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Al Fan Al Asil Folk Arts Troupe revived the atmosphere of authentic Kuwaiti art through a musical evening at The Avenues Mall, presenting a selection of folk and traditional arts that reflect the richness of Kuwait’s cultural heritage, as part of the “Summer Cultural Festival 18” events.
The troupe is one of the Kuwaiti folk groups classified by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters. Established in 2012 and officially recognized in 2022, it performs various forms of Kuwaiti folk arts, including Ardah (martial dance), maritime arts, Al Sawt, Samri, Liwa, and Tanbura, among other traditional art forms. Under the leadership of Mubarak Al-Shatti, the troupe has participated in numerous events and festivals both within Kuwait and abroad.
The troupe continues its efforts to preserve Kuwait’s folk heritage and strengthen its presence among new generations by presenting traditional arts in a manner that highlights their cultural and artistic value. It also supports, empowers, and encourages young people to participate in safeguarding the national cultural identity and transmitting this heritage to future generations.
