Al-Shaibani: We are considering joining the Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense among Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan - Sarmad

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaybani clarified that his country is considering joining the “Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense,” which includes Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, while affirming that Damascus has not yet made a final decision on the matter.
In statements to local media on Friday, at the conclusion of his official visit to Pakistan, al-Shaybani said that Syrian policy is currently focused on reconstruction, economic cooperation, and building close international and regional relations, according to Anadolu Agency.
Al-Shaybani described Turkey as a “key partner in Syria’s reconstruction,” pointing to the shared border between the two countries, which exceeds 1,000 kilometers in length, as well as the historical ties linking the two peoples.
