(KUNA) – Kuwait’s Ambassador to Dushanbe, Mohammed Al-Amiri, held talks on Thursday with Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture, Murodoba K. Starian, to explore ways to enhance and develop cultural cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

Ambassador Al-Amiri told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after the meeting that the discussions covered the trajectory of cultural relations between the two nations, several topics of mutual interest at both bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation in cultural and artistic sectors.

He added that the meeting addressed the exchange of delegations and the organization of joint cultural and artistic events and programs, which would contribute to showcasing the history, heritage, and culture of both countries and strengthening communication and rapprochement between their peoples.

He clarified that both sides reviewed the experience of “Tajik Cultural Days,” held in Kuwait from November 11 to 14, 2024, and its contribution to promoting Tajikistan’s heritage, arts, and national culture, as well as supporting cultural exchange between the two countries.

He noted that the discussions also covered cooperation in the field of crafts and traditional industries, highlighting the participation of Tajik artisans in the Second Global Crafts Forum hosted by Kuwait in 2026. He emphasized the importance of such participation in exchanging expertise and experiences, promoting traditional crafts, and supporting creative industries.

Ambassador Al-Amiri mentioned that the meeting also touched upon areas of education and academic exchange, joint research, implementation of cultural programs, and cooperation in media, culture, and youth affairs, building on discussions held in October 2024 regarding enhancing cooperation in television, radio, culture, and youth.

Both sides stressed the importance of continuing to develop cultural, artistic, and tourism cooperation, launching joint initiatives and events to consolidate bilateral relations and enhance understanding and communication between the peoples of the two countries.
