US President announces launch of 'unprecedented' economic war on Iran - Sarmad

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the launch of an “unprecedented” economic war against Iran, two days after Washington suspended negotiations with Tehran following their failure to reach an agreement.
In a post on his platform Truth Social on Wednesday, President Trump said, “No one has given Iran a greater opportunity than I have to reach an agreement, and unfortunately, they missed this opportunity. Therefore, I am announcing today the strongest economic action ever taken against any country,” emphasizing that it would constitute an economic war and isolation on an unprecedented scale.
He added that Iran’s naval power had evaporated, its air forces had been destroyed, its military factories had been reduced to rubble, its currency had lost its value, and the country was hanging by a thread.
Trump also declared that any country allowing its financial institutions, companies, airports, or government agencies to provide any form of support to Iran would face severe economic consequences.
He stressed the urgent need to immediately halt oil smuggling, barter lines, money transfers, exchange companies, ship registration records, and shell companies.
He described these measures as a decisive economic day, underscoring that the United States requires the full cooperation of all allies to isolate and defeat the Iranian threat.
He stated that Iranian extremists were staggering under the pressure, and these historic measures would paralyze their operations and eliminate their ability to spread terrorism worldwide, reaffirming that his country would never allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.
