More than 100 killed in gold mine collapse in Cameroon - Sarmad

France 24, citing local authorities, reported that more than 100 people were killed in a gold mine collapse in Cameroon.
The station stated that the collapse occurred at a gold mining site in the village of Zamboua in eastern Cameroon, and that 107 bodies had been recovered so far.
According to the station’s information, search and rescue operations are ongoing, and the death toll could rise later.
The station noted that Zamboua is located near the border between Cameroon and the Central African Republic.
Earlier, the Associated Press reported that at least 30 miners were killed in a gold mine collapse in western Central African Republic, in the Nana-Mambere prefecture bordering Cameroon.
