Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Arrives in Iraq to Discuss Security Steps Between the Two Countries - Sarmad

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf arrived in Iraq on Wednesday for a visit he said aims to take practical and significant steps between Tehran and Baghdad to enhance their security.

Qalibaf said in a post on the X platform, “In this visit, we will take practical and significant steps toward consolidating the self and joint security of both countries, and achieving prosperity for both peoples.”

During a press conference, Qalibaf said that Islamic countries in the region need to expand areas of cooperation and establish deep and sustainable relations.

He noted that he would meet with a number of senior officials in the Iraqi government during his visit.
