Traffic Department: 115 vehicles that crossed lane markings referred to vehicle impoundment for one month - Sarmad

The General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Security Control Department, carried out a traffic campaign in recent hours to monitor and enforce violations related to overtaking rules and regulations. The operation was supervised by Brigadier General Ahmed Fahad Al-Azmi, Head of the Operations and Traffic Sector, and led by Brigadier General Rashid Hamoud Al-Hajeri, Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic. The campaign focused on identifying violations that pose a danger to road users, particularly illegal overtaking that disregards traffic rules and etiquette, due to the potential disruption of traffic flow and increased risk of accidents.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate on the X platform, the campaign resulted in the issuance of 115 direct traffic violations and 5 indirect violations. Vehicles cited for direct violations were referred to the Traffic Impoundment Yard for a 30-day impoundment period, while a block was placed on the five vehicles cited for indirect violations.

The General Directorate of Traffic affirmed that its monitoring and security campaigns will continue across various roads to detect and address violations in accordance with the law, thereby enhancing traffic discipline and curbing behaviors that threaten the safety of drivers and road users.
