Trump: I will soon announce that the Hormuz Strait belongs to U.S. territory - Sarmad

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he would soon announce that the Strait of Hormuz has become part of US territory, according to Reuters.

Trump added that he would never apologize for what he did to Iran, maintaining that he had done the right thing.

This marks an escalation in the sharp rhetoric exchanged over control of the strait, through which a significant share of Middle Eastern oil supplies flows to global markets.

Meanwhile, Fox News reported that Trump said the United States would severely strike Iran economically, as both countries face significant difficulties in reaching an agreement to end the conflict that has been ongoing for about six months.

Trump’s remarks came a day after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States would implement unprecedented measures against Tehran in the near future, possibly as early as next week.
