Saudi Arabia: We call on Iran to immediately halt violations in the Strait of Hormuz - Sarmad

Saudi Arabia expressed its strongest condemnation of the targeting of two tankers belonging to the UAE’s ADNOC company as they transited the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its rejection of Iranian attacks targeting commercial ships and tankers.

It placed full responsibility on Iran for the consequences of continuing such attacks, calling on Tehran to immediately halt these violations and respect relevant international laws. It emphasized that the security of the region and the safety of international navigation are shared responsibilities, and that the continuation of these attacks is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.

The Kingdom reiterated its full solidarity with the UAE in its efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and assets.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the recurrence of these attacks constitutes a serious escalation and a direct threat to maritime security.
