Three U.S. states carried out executions by lethal injection of three prisoners in a single day, marking the first such occurrence in the United States since 2010.

The states of Tennessee and Oklahoma began executing two inmates with a 30-minute interval between them, followed hours later by Alabama.

Although the scheduling of the executions on the same day was coincidental, it highlighted a growing trend in the use of the death penalty in the United States, particularly during the presidency of Donald Trump. In 2025, 11 states executed a total of 47 people, the highest number since 2009, when 52 inmates were put to death.
