Ministry of Education Concludes 47th Summer Training Course with Participation of 268 Students - Sarmad
The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) concluded today, Thursday, the 47th summer training course for secondary and university students, which was attended by 268 students.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held in the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Hall at the institute’s main building, Dr. Khaled Hadi, Acting Director General of KISR, stated that the course provided a rich scientific and training experience that combined knowledge with practical application.
He noted that the institute has been organizing this course since 1976, adding that the strong interest in this year’s edition, which attracted 1,121 applicants, reflects the trust and reputation the program has earned among families.
Dr. Hadi clarified that the current course saw the participation of 214 secondary school students and 54 university students, who were given the opportunity to engage with the scientific research environment and learn about the institute’s fields of work through lectures, workshops, and experiments.
He emphasized that KISR’s focus on youth and young people is an integral part of its mission to serve society and build national capabilities, providing generations with the chance to discover scientific research as a tool for shaping the future and contributing to sustainable development.
Dr. Hadi appreciated the support of government entities and public institutions, including the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the University of Kuwait, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, as well as the Ministries of Education, Health, and Interior.
He also expressed his gratitude to private sector institutions and civil organizations, represented by the College of Aviation Technology, Kuwait Finance House, Kuwait Winter Sports Club, IKEA Kuwait, Al-Rawdatayn Water Bottling Company, Kuwait Telecommunications Company (STC), Kuwait-Danish Dairy Company (KDD), and Trust Flow, Lumine Pro, and Tarteeb companies.
For his part, Dr. Ayub Taher, the course director, said in his address that the course is an extension of the institute’s mission to foster a spirit of scientific research among the younger generation, embodying the belief in the importance of investing in youth and preparing a generation equipped with knowledge and a passion for innovation.
He noted that over the past weeks, students benefited from scientific programs, practical experiments, lectures, and field trips, which enriched their experience and opened new horizons for their future.
On behalf of the participating students, student Khalid Shuhaybar expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the institute’s management and training staff for their efforts in providing an inspiring scientific environment.
He affirmed that the course marks the beginning of a journey of contribution and scientific research, helping to build a generation capable of raising Kuwait’s name in various fields.
