French club Paris Saint-Germain claimed the UEFA Super Cup title for the second consecutive year, defeating English side Aston Villa 2-1 in the match held on Wednesday evening at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg, Austria.
PSG replicated last season’s scenario, when they also beat English club Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup via a penalty shootout after the match ended 2-2, despite the Spurs having led 2-0 until the final minutes of the second half.
