Katz: Israeli army is in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza 'to stay' - Sarmad
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated on Wednesday that the Israeli military is present in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza to remain.
Speaking while visiting border villages in Lebanon, Katz said: “The Israeli military is here to remain in the security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, and to defend the entire State of Israel.”
Boasting, he added: “We are up high, and they are down low. I have directed the Israeli military to take all necessary measures for a long-term presence in the area.”
He continued: “From here, we see the Boufer mountain range, after the destruction of the tunnels there. The Israeli military conducted a maneuver across the Litani River in an operation marked by great courage and skill, and succeeded in defeating Hezbollah and taking control of Boufer, which protects Metula, the northern towns, and Israeli soldiers. The military now controls all Hezbollah areas on the horizon.”
He further emphasized: “As the Prime Minister and I have clearly stated, we will not withdraw from this security zone, which stretches from the western seashore, through the Boufer areas, to the foothills of Mount Hermon in the east. The Israeli military is here to protect the northern towns and its forces. We will clear this area and ensure the security of the northern residents, and we will not withdraw under any circumstances from the security zones, neither in Lebanon, nor in Syria, nor in Gaza.”
He stressed that “the lesson of October 7 is that we protect the population through the presence of the Israeli military here, in these areas, to shield them from infiltration, gunfire, and all other threats. This is our policy, and this is our vision.”
He pointed out that “the Boufer fortress illustrates more than anything else the meaning of this policy: We are up high, and they are down low; the population is protected, the Israeli military is inside, and 200,000 residents are outside. We are destroying the underground infrastructure and all the terrorist infrastructure they built with Iranian support to infiltrate the Galilee, and we are demolishing all the houses in the area.”
He concluded: “This is our policy, and we will continue it. We will not allow enemies of this jihadist nature under any circumstances to threaten our population or our borders. The residents are outside, the soldiers are inside, and the houses are destroyed.”
