Ambassador Samih Hayat Praises the Bilateral Relations Between Kuwait and the Republic of Chad - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs Ambassador Samih Hayat praised the bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Chad across several key areas.

This came in a statement Ambassador Hayat made to journalists on the sidelines of attending the 66th anniversary of independence celebration hosted by the friendly Republic of Chad’s embassy in Kuwait, attended by a select group of heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations in the country.

Ambassador Hayat added that the bilateral relations between the two countries, dating back to the 1960s, are characterized by mutual respect, political consultation, and continuous economic cooperation, expressing his hope for further advancement to elevate cooperation in various fields.

For his part, Ambassador of the Republic of Chad Dr. Taher Khatir, in his speech on this occasion, emphasized the depth of the relations between the two countries, mutual respect, and understanding regarding issues of common interest, under the political vision of the leaderships of both countries.

Ambassador Khatir expressed his country’s aspiration to continue developing this cooperation and elevate it to the level of a fruitful strategic partnership, particularly in sectors brimming with promising opportunities, including agriculture, livestock, infrastructure, industry, renewable energy, and tourism.

He called on Kuwaiti businessmen and investors to make Chad one of their investment destinations and to closely explore its wealth of natural resources, raw materials, and dynamic human capital, stressing that these assets provide promising investment opportunities that serve the common interests of both sides.

He pointed out the existing cooperation between the Republic of Chad and the State of Kuwait through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and its role in supporting and financing several development projects in Chad in the fields of health, infrastructure, and agriculture.

Ambassador Khatir affirmed that this cooperation is highly valued by the senior political leadership in the Republic of Chad, given its significant contribution to supporting the development process and strengthening the bonds of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
