UK Health Security Agency warns of rising temperatures across most of England - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued an orange-level heat health warning on Monday for most of England, excluding the North East, from tomorrow through next Friday, as the country faces its fifth heatwave of the summer.

In a statement, the agency said temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees Celsius, significantly impacting health and social care services, and warned that people aged 65 and over are at serious risk from the heat.

Earlier this month, orange and yellow heat health alerts were issued for several areas in England and the capital, London.

The British Society for the Study of Health also reported in late July that heat-related deaths reached 2,877 during the heatwaves that affected the country in May and June.
