Meteorology: Increase in relative humidity in the evening.. and reduced visibility due to fog - Sarmad

The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, stated that the country is experiencing hot weather today, Monday, with increased relative humidity in the evening and reduced horizontal visibility due to fog.

Al-Ali told KUNA that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is affected by an extension of the monsoon low pressure system, accompanied by a hot and humid air mass, leading to increased relative humidity and reduced horizontal visibility in some areas due to fog.

He clarified that winds will be variable in direction to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 6 and 26 kilometers per hour.

He noted that the weather will generally be hot and humid during the day, and hot to slightly warm and humid at night. He expected relative humidity to gradually decrease from Tuesday morning, with winds shifting to northwesterly.

He mentioned that maximum temperatures will range between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to range between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius.

Al-Ali called on citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin via the Department’s official website, its application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.

He also urged asthma and allergy patients, individuals with chronic illnesses, and children to exercise caution when going out due to the high humidity and temperatures, and to remain in air-conditioned places as much as possible.
