Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that the Mecca Agreement on Joint Defense, signed by Saudi Arabia with Turkey and Pakistan, underscores the deep fraternal and strategic ties uniting these countries.

He noted that the agreement aims to support a more secure and stable regional environment, serving the interests of the peoples of the three nations.

The minister’s remarks came on the occasion of the agreement’s signing on Friday, which seeks to enhance collective deterrence against any aggression and stipulates that any armed attack on any of the signatory states will be considered an attack on all of them.

The agreement also aims to develop various aspects of defense and military cooperation and strengthen coordination among the three countries, thereby raising readiness levels and enhancing their joint capabilities.

The joint statement issued on the occasion of the signing described the agreement as a manifestation of the commitment to continue strengthening collective security among the three nations. The signing took place in the presence of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The agreement reflects the three countries’ dedication to enhancing their shared security and contributing to regional and international peace and stability.

It is worth noting that this trilateral agreement is separate from the Strategic Joint Defense Agreement concluded between Riyadh and Islamabad in September 2025, under which the two countries committed to treating any aggression against one as aggression against both.
