Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo surpass 4,000 - Sarmad

Government data showed that the number of confirmed Ebola virus cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo surpassed 4,000 for the first time during the current outbreak.

This is the world’s second-largest outbreak and is described as the fastest-spreading ever.

Experts believe the infection began spreading months before the outbreak was declared on May 15, and that the actual number of cases may be much higher than the official figures.

The DRC’s National Institute of Public Health said in its latest report that the total number of cases had reached 4,053, including 1,850 deaths.
