Customs Authorities Foil Smuggling of 4,255 Captagon Pills with Passenger Arriving from Syria - Sarmad

Inspectors from the General Administration of Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,255 pills of the narcotic drug Captagon, which were in the possession of a passenger arriving from Syria on a flight operated by an airline at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 5 (T5).

The seizure followed suspicions regarding the passenger’s luggage, which was subjected to thorough inspection procedures using screening equipment. The operation resulted in the discovery of three boxes containing Captagon pills hidden among the luggage in an attempt to conceal them from customs officers.

Immediate legal measures were taken, an official seizure report was prepared, and the suspect and the confiscated items were referred to the General Administration for Combating Narcotics to complete the legal procedures in accordance with their jurisdiction.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its continued commitment to strengthening its supervisory and inspection systems and combating all smuggling attempts of prohibited items, thereby contributing to the protection of society’s security and safety.
