Bahrain: Houthi terrorist attack on civilians in Najran... a dangerous escalation - Sarmad

Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and outrage on Friday over the heinous terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia using indiscriminate projectiles, which targeted civilian facilities and assets in the Najran region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in injuries to several innocent civilians.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a serious escalation and a blatant violation of the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter.

The ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete support for the measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as to protect citizens and vital civilian infrastructure. It also expressed hopes for the swift recovery of all those injured.

Bahrain called for a firm international stance to hold the Houthi terrorist militia accountable, cut off its funding and arms supplies, and thereby contribute to the protection of civilians and the preservation of regional security and stability.

The ministry reiterated Bahrain’s appreciation for the diplomatic, humanitarian, and developmental efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the Gulf Initiative, its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, notably Resolution 2216, which safeguards Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and meets its people’s aspirations for security, stability, and sustainable prosperity.
