Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters Launches Children's Creators Club as Part of "Cultural Summer 18" Festival - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Kuwait National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters launched the Creative Club for Children on Thursday, as part of the 18th edition of the Summer Cultural Festival, accompanied by an exhibition of children’s books featuring stories and tales.

The club, which runs until August 23, is organized within the framework of the National Council’s commitment to making the most of the summer vacation by providing an interactive environment that fosters children’s creative and intellectual skills and strengthens their passion for reading and learning through a diverse range of specialized workshops and cultural activities.

The club’s activities kicked off with the “Gardener” workshop, led by trainer Dr. Nour Al-Mutawa, aimed at introducing children to the basics of gardening and plant care. This was followed by the “Author” workshop, conducted by trainer Abrar Al-Buwaiss, which focused on developing storytelling skills and formulating creative ideas.

The club’s program also includes the “Artist” workshop, led by trainer Farah Al-Qanaai, to enhance children’s artistic expression through colors; the “Feelings Journal” workshop, led by trainer Eiman Al-Hajeri, to help children identify and express their emotions through writing; the “Chef” workshop, led by trainer Sumaya Al-Obeidi, to teach basic cooking skills in an interactive manner; and the “Storyteller” workshop, led by trainer Amal Al-Randawi, to revive the art of storytelling and narration.

Additional activities feature the “Designer” workshop, led by trainer Dalal Bursali, which introduces children to the basics of color coordination and design, and the “Little Speaker” workshop, led by trainer Sara Al-Daihani, aimed at developing public speaking, communication, and self-expression skills with confidence.

The “Creative Club” seeks to provide a nurturing environment that refines children’s skills and inspires their talents across various creative fields, encouraging families and parents to take advantage of the workshops and the accompanying exhibition, which contribute to building a generation of readers and creative individuals and strengthening their presence in the cultural landscape from an early age.
