Kuwait University hosts the “University Rehabilitation Program” in collaboration with the “Sabah Al-Ahmad Center” - Sarmad
(KUNA) – Kuwait University hosted the second edition of the University Preparation Program (PRE), organized by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, in collaboration with the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, and Petroleum, from August 2 to 13.
Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Adnan Abul, said in a press statement on Tuesday that the faculty is pleased to host the program for the second consecutive year, noting that the participation of outstanding students allows them to explore medical research fields and become familiar with specialized medical disciplines at an early stage.
Dr. Abul explained that the program helps prepare students to transition from the school stage to the medical university environment with confidence and stability, adding that students will get to know the faculty’s departments and specializations up close, as well as the reality of medical practice in lecture halls and laboratories.
He emphasized that the Faculty of Medicine strives to equip students with modern medical knowledge and sciences, while also being keen on instilling human values and professional ethics, thereby contributing to the preparation of a generation of doctors capable of leading the healthcare system efficiently and competently.
For his part, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, welcomed the participating students in a similar statement, affirming the university’s commitment to providing the necessary facilities and support, and creating an inspiring educational environment that meets their academic and professional aspirations and needs.
On his part, Dr. Sultan Al-Anzi, supervisor of the University Preparation Program from the Electrical Engineering Department, said that such programs contribute to preparing scientists and innovators capable of making a tangible impact in vital and scientific fields at the regional level.
Al-Anzi clarified that the program dedicates one day to each engineering specialization, in addition to the specializations of the Faculty of Architecture, and called on students to take full advantage of the scientific and cultural activities included in the program, and to maximize the benefits of the university experience.
The program, which is part of the strategic partnership between the university and the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, aims to prepare outstanding high school students in the fields of medicine and engineering, develop their academic and professional skills, and familiarize them with the university environment, thereby facilitating their transition to medical and engineering specializations.
