The Fire Department and the Kuwait Fire Safety Association organize a seminar to raise awareness of electric vehicle safety - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The General Fire Force organized today, Tuesday, in collaboration with the Kuwait Fire Protection Association, a seminar titled “Global Trends in Ensuring the Safety of Electric Vehicles” to present the latest international standards and practices related to the safety of electric vehicles and ways to prevent associated risks.

In a statement, the Force noted that the seminar featured speeches by Honorary Member and Advisor to the Association, Retired Major General Yousef Al-Ansari, and Association President, Engineer Adel Al-Nassar. They emphasized that instilling a culture of fire prevention, raising public awareness, and providing training across various sectors constitute a fundamental pillar for enhancing safety. They further explained that the expansion in the use of electric vehicles requires the application of specific regulations to ensure the highest levels of safety, whether concerning charging operations, storage, or handling accidents and fires.

They pointed out that the seminar aims to keep pace with the rapid expansion in the use of electric vehicles by presenting the latest international standards related to their safety, enhancing awareness of potential risks and preventive measures, and introducing safety requirements for charging stations.

The seminar discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between government entities, the private sector, and academic institutions, thereby enhancing efforts toward the transition to sustainable transport, meeting safety requirements, and contributing to the protection of lives and property.
