Al-Sharaa meets Barzani in Damascus to discuss economic cooperation and regional developments - Sarmad

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa received Iraqi Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and his accompanying delegation today at the People’s Palace in Damascus, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad al-Shaybani.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations and ways to develop them across various fields, with a focus on enhancing economic cooperation and broadening the scope of joint coordination to serve mutual interests.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the regional and international arenas, exchanging views on several issues of common concern, and emphasizing the importance of strengthening regional cooperation and supporting efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in the region.

The meeting comes amid ongoing political consultations between Damascus and Erbil, and the exploration of opportunities to expand cooperation in line with the changes the region is witnessing, thereby strengthening ties between the two sides.
