The U.S. Department of Defense announced the signing of agreements with defense contractors Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin to increase missile production for the THAAD and Patriot PAC-3 systems.
In a statement, the Pentagon said: “The U.S. Department of Defense, in collaboration with Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin, today announces the execution of two framework agreements aimed at expanding production capacity for critical components of interceptor missiles.”
The ministry noted that these agreements play a key role in providing “long-term demand assurances for primary suppliers, which will enable a threefold increase in the production volume of interceptor missiles for the Advanced Capability Patriot PAC-3 system, and a fourfold increase in interceptor missiles for the THAAD systems.”
