Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs: The Brutal Iraqi Invasion a Pivotal Moment That Embodied the Cohesion and Resilience of the Kuwaiti People - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shrideh Al-Muwasharji said that the brutal Iraqi invasion of Kuwait was a pivotal milestone that demonstrated the unity of the Kuwaiti people, who stood as one solid front behind their legitimate leadership in a historic national stance.

Minister Al-Muwasharji told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion, which coincides with today, Sunday, that the sacrifices of martyrs and prisoners of war—loyal sons of the homeland who defended Kuwait with their blood and inscribed in the pages of history an epic of a people who know no defeat in their defense of the State of Kuwait—will remain a testament to the epic of a nation that defended its homeland with utmost bravery and loyalty.

He noted that at the heart of this unity, the Kuwaiti people, across all segments of society, proved themselves equal to the responsibility despite the harshness of the circumstances. They never ceased to endure and work toward liberating their country from the brutal Iraqi invasion, becoming beacons of hope in the darkness of occupation and symbols of dedication during times of trial.

He expressed pride in the loyal national cadres who worked to serve their country and citizens during the period of the Iraqi invasion, including those employed in the ministries of Electricity and Water and Health, the Fire Service, oil sector companies, volunteers in cooperative societies, and others who contributed to the continued provision of all services under the darkest conditions. He emphasized that their contributions would remain engraved in the nation’s memory and serve as an inspiration for future generations.

The Minister called upon God Almighty to perpetuate the blessings of security and stability upon the country under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him; His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him; and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, may God protect him.
