Former Member of the National Assembly Mutab Al-Jalal Al-Sahli affirmed: “The anniversary of August 2 is not merely a date that passes, but a lesson etched in the consciousness of every Kuwaiti and Gulf citizen: that homelands are safeguarded by unity before they are defended by arms, and that security is a blessing whose value is only truly appreciated when it is absent. Thirty-six years have passed, and Kuwait’s resilience and the cohesion of its people remain a testament recounted to future generations.”

He said: “Today, as we recall the memory of the brutal Iraqi invasion, we recognize that the challenges in our region have not disappeared; rather, they persist and take new forms. From the invasion by our Iraqi neighbor yesterday to the attacks and provocations by our Iranian neighbor today, the greatest and most profound lesson emerges: that Saudi Arabia is our steadfast support, our strong shield, and our proven sword in times of hardship.”

He stressed that the enduring truth remains that the security of our Gulf is ensured only through unity of ranks, national will, the rallying of peoples around their leadership, and adherence to the historic fraternal bonds that unite us.

He added: “We ask God to protect Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the other Gulf states, and the Arab and Islamic nations; to perpetuate upon us the blessing of security and stability; and to make our homelands impervious to every aggressor. May mercy and glory be upon our righteous martyrs, who inscribed the highest expressions of sacrifice and devotion with their blood.”
