“Health”: The Kuwaiti health sector embodied the highest meanings of resilience and responsibility during the invasion - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, said on Sunday that the Kuwaiti health sector was one of the most prominent arenas of resilience during the brutal Iraqi invasion, as its personnel—doctors, dentists, nursing staff, technicians, and administrators—continued to fulfill their humanitarian mission with great courage and dedication.
Minister Al-Awadi noted in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion of Kuwait that hospitals and health facilities continued to provide medical care, perform emergency surgeries, and treat patients and the injured, despite the extremely difficult conditions surrounding the country at the time.
He affirmed that this anniversary will remain a testament to the resilience and unity of the Kuwaiti people, as well as to the noble sacrifices made by the nation’s sons in defense of their homeland and in steadfast adherence to its values and principles.
He added that the contributions of health sector personnel during the invasion represent a bright page in the country’s history, embodying the highest meanings of national and humanitarian responsibility. He pointed out that members of the health sector made their medical mission a symbol of giving and sacrifice, leaving a legacy that remains a source of pride and honor for every Kuwaiti and a clear indication that Kuwaitis know how to stand together in times of hardship to serve their country and protect its people.
The minister noted that commemorating this occasion renews the commitment to continue working with dedication to safeguard public health and to advance the development of the health system, in honor of the sacrifices made by fathers and forefathers whose solidarity and resilience forged an honorable national history.
He prayed to God Almighty to have mercy on Kuwait’s martyrs, to protect the State of Kuwait and its people from all harm, and to perpetuate the blessings of security, safety, and stability under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect and guard him), and the leadership of His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (may God protect him), and His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (may God protect him).
