Study: Growing Concerns Over the Use of Artificial Intelligence - Sarmad

After the initial shock of the new innovation subsided and concerns grew over privacy violations, job losses, and so-called “rogue” chatbot programs, signs are emerging of rising opposition to artificial intelligence, even among its supporters, who have begun scaling back their use of AI or have stopped using it altogether.

The Digital Future Institute at King’s College London and the UK’s AI organization published the results of a recent survey, which showed that 42% of respondents had begun limiting their use of chatbot programs, while more than half viewed the technology as posing significant risks.

Researchers at both institutions warned in a report summarizing the survey findings that people are resisting artificial intelligence.

King’s College London stated in a press release that the most common reason for reducing AI use was concern over data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance, followed by a preference for continuing to work in the current manner.
