Sudan: Large group of Rapid Support Forces defectors join the army - Sarmad

Sudanese military sources announced the defection of a large group of Rapid Support Forces personnel, who joined the national army, coinciding with reports of control over significant quantities of vehicles and weapons in North Kordofan.

The sources stated that the defectors, numbering approximately 45 fighters, including Osman al-Nur, Yunis Idris, and Ali al-Zein, arrived from the Bara area to the outskirts of Omdurman, where they were received by the Sudanese army.

Mohammed Didan, the commander of special operations in Kordofan for the Sudanese army, announced that forces had seized military equipment during operations along the Export Road in North Kordofan state.

Didan clarified that the initial inventory of seized equipment includes more than 240 combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers, in addition to eight warehouses for weapons and ammunition, ten warehouses for supplies and medicines, and thousands of barrels filled with fuel.
