Kuwait welcomes Gaza ceasefire announcement, stresses full withdrawal of occupying forces from the Strip - Sarmad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s welcome for the announcement by the President of the friendly United States of America, Donald Trump, regarding the agreement on the implementation of the comprehensive peace plan for the Gaza Strip.

It praised the efforts made by the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, the sisterly State of Qatar, the friendly Turkish Republic, the friendly United States of America, the Peace Council, and all relevant parties to reach this agreement.

The Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to supporting the full implementation of the comprehensive peace plan and its subsequent phases, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, including the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, supporting reconstruction efforts, and the return of the Palestinian Authority to the Strip.

The Ministry emphasized the necessity that the agreement pave the way for a comprehensive political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
