Municipality: Joint field campaign to remove encroachments in Hawalli Governorate in cooperation with the Electricity and Environment Authorities - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Kuwait Municipality announced on Thursday that it had launched a joint field campaign with the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in Hawalli Governorate, as part of the “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments” campaign to remove encroachments on state lands in residential areas.

Ibrahim Al-Suba’an, head of the Violations Removal Department at the Kuwait Municipality’s Hawalli branch, told reporters on the sidelines of a tour in the Al-Shuhada area that the campaign is progressing toward its goal of demolishing illegal structures built on state lands.

Al-Suba’an added that after removing a metal fence near one of the residential houses, the municipal team discovered workers’ quarters and bathroom installations. The Public Authority for Environmental Affairs was called in for assistance, and coordination was established with the judicial police team from the Ministry of Electricity to take legal action.

He noted that the municipality operates in accordance with regulations that govern its work and specify the procedures and fines that property owners must comply with, including the cleanliness and road obstructions regulation, the safety regulation, and the agriculture regulation.

He urged those who have encroached on state properties in private and model residential areas to promptly respond by removing all forms of encroachments before the municipality takes legal measures, which may include financial fines.

Earlier, in June last year, the Kuwait Municipality launched a campaign to remove encroachments on state lands under the slogan “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments,” calling on citizens to cooperate with municipal teams and voluntarily respond to the removal of all forms of encroachments on state properties in private and model residential areas.
