Kuwait welcomes Ireland's approval of a law banning the import of Israeli settlement products - Sarmad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s welcome for the Republic of Ireland’s adoption of legislation prohibiting the import of products from Israeli settlements, describing it as an important step that aligns with relevant international legal resolutions, particularly United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016 and the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice issued on July 19, 2024, regarding the illegality of settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Ministry commended Ireland’s position, which is consistent with the provisions of international law, and emphasized the necessity for the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in confronting the Israeli occupation’s settlement policy, which undermines the prospects for peace.
Kuwait reaffirmed its firm and supportive stance regarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is their right to establish an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
